Ana Isabel de Palacio y del Valle Lersundi
Ana Palacio is a lawyer by training, specializing in international and European law, arbitration, and mediation. She is a member of the Boards of Enagás, PharmaMar, and AEE Power; of the International Advisory Boards of Investcorp and Office Chérifien des Phosphates; and of the Governing Council of the Instituto de Empresa. She is also a member of several think-tanks and organizations and a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. She was a member of the European Parliament (1994-2002), she served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain (2002-2004) and was a member of the Spanish Parliament (2004-2006). She has been Senior Vice-President and General Counsel of the World Bank Group, Secretary General of ICSID (2006-2008), member of the Executive Committee and Senior Vice-President for International Affairs of AREVA (2008-2009) and she served on the Council of State of Spain (2012-2018). She holds degrees in Law, Political Science and Sociology.
